About NTAC

The North Thompson Arts Council was founded in 2008 by artists in the communities of Barriere and Clearwater. We have been promoting and supporting the arts in Clearwater in many ways and at many venues. The NTAC opened an Art gallery and meeting/workshop space in the Yellowhead Community Centre in 2013. We are in the process of finding a new, more permanent location to continue promoting the arts in our area. Our members include a variety of artists and supporters from several groups and disciplines, including:

  • The Clearwater Art Gallery
  • The Clearwater Theatre Collective
  • The North Thompson Quilters Guild
  • The Children’s Art Festival
  • The Clearwater Writers Circle
  • Clearwater Fibre Arts

The goal of the NTAC is to achieve an artistically vibrant community that is inclusive and inventive. It is our vision each member of, or visitor to, the community of Clearwater and the North Thompson district will have the opportunity to engage in the Arts. Involvement can be either as participant/artist or as viewer/audience, and they will be able to enjoy the creative process of the arts in a meaningful way.
