Eileen has been wax painting as a hobby for fifteen years. She has published a poetry book which includes her wax art. Encaustic literally means ‘to burn into’. Hot wax is applied to a surface with a small iron. All artwork displayed on this directory page is encaustic. However, two of the later paintings are mixed media. Acrylic is used for the background and some detail work and water colour pastels are used minimally.
