Artist Directory Application

As a benefit to being a current NTAC Member, you, your business or your studio can have an optional directory listing on the NTAC website. If you are interested in applying for a directory listing, please gather the required information, then submit it through the long form to the right. If you require assistance or have questions, please submit the short form below.

Scroll down this page to see the sample artist listing below the forms. Please write a brief bio, history or artist’s statement for your directory listing. Be sure to include a list of mediums or disciplines and your exhibition/experience/education information if you wish for it to be shown on your listing.

To include the section showing your work samples, gather good-quality photos of your chosen works and rename them with the title, medium and date of the work in the file name. You may upload multiple images your work or combine the files in one .zip file.

We may contact you or leave the section out of your listing if you do not provide any information for that section.

By submitting your photos and information to The North Thompson Arts Council (NTAC) through the website norththompsonartscouncil.ca, you grant NTAC permission to use the submitted data for the Artist Directory on our website. You also confirm that you have the right to use the images and information you provide.

I was born in Devon, England, in 1960, and my family moved to London when I was five. I went to a large school, and I had four siblings, so I was used to being surrounded by people—which suited me fine. What little time I had on my own was spent creating: inventing new board games, drawing, or painting.

The only formal training I’ve had was studying art at school until I was sixteen. I had a good art teacher. She predicted that I would fail her final exam because I had developed a very specific style too early; but she didn’t try to get me to change that style, because she figured this would destroy my interest in art. She made the right call: I failed the exam, but retained my interest in art. I’ve also sat in on some life drawing classes over the years. And I try to spend at least a month every couple of years drawing from life.

I have worked both as a commercial artist and as a teacher in many places, including England, the United States, and the Middle East.
